This pole kit includes a metal pole with adjustable height and a multi prong base for stability. It can hold multiple bird feeders which was a plus for me. The metal construction is thick and solid. The black finish helps protect against rust and weather exposure too so that was great.
Assembly is straightforward. The prongs slide into the ground easy enough and the pole sections lock securely at the desired height. Feeders and other attachments fit the top mount without extra adapters too. Once set up, the pole remains steady!
You can really use this for a number of things. It holds feeders, small decor and solar panels without tilting. The height adjustment allows for easy cleaning or refilling of feeders too.
Exactly what I needed to get a birdhouse finally setup! There were no instructions in the box but assembly was pretty easy. The pole is split into 4 connecting parts, each with inner and outer molded screw ridges for easily assembling the pole and connecting to the ground spikes.
Note that the pole seems to be made of aluminum not steel - not as sturdy as I was expecting. We ended up anchoring the pole to the front porch railing with twist ties for more stable support.
I used a different connector for my solar panel - it did not fit well on the included holder (seemed unstable).
I’ve been waiting for stronger winds to truly test how sturdy this pole will be during our Northeast blizzard season, but so far, it’s held up impressively well through a recent windy rainstorm. It didn't even budge! I’ll update my review if any issues arise, but for now, I fully trust this solid pole to support my camera bird feeder.
While it’s not as tall as another adjustable pole I have nearby, the birds don’t seem to mind at all. It keeps their feeder high enough to stay safe from ground predators while they eat. I really like that poles like this allow you to position bird houses and feeders away from trees and buildings, where larger predators might otherwise reach them.
If you have a lot of squirrels or smaller wildlife, you might want to add a squirrel baffle, or even give them their own peanut feeder, which you can easily mount to this pole too!
No instructions were included, but assembly was pretty straightforward. If you do run into trouble, there’s a helpful video on the product page that walks you through the setup.
Our feathered friends and I are very satisfied with this post so far.
I have been having trouble with raccoons getting into my bird seed and making a mess of it overnight, so I ordered this pole to isolate the feeder from any of my structures. This one was appealing mostly because of the price, these things can get pricey. This pole is not quite as tall as I thought it would be, if you look at the pictures with dimensions they are showing from the bottom of the prongs, so make sure you factor that in before purchasing. It's still tall enough for my needs, the raccoons can't climb it and spaced it away from everything else so they can't jump to it.
The metal tubes are adequately thick to hold my camera feeder and it's solar panel. I was able to mount the feeder on the top and the solar panel on the vertical surface behind the feeder. It feels plenty sturdy, and it has held up just fine through all of the wind we've had lately. The included solar panel arm is great but only if the threads match what you have.
I like that the sections overlap with the female end screwing in above the male ends, this let's water run down the pole rather than going into the pole and causing premature rust. The tongs are strong enough to press them into the ground with a foot, I wouldn't take a hammer to them though. They're long enough to give the pole good stability.
For the price, this is a decent feeder pole. Just make sure you understand the dimensions before ordering.
As described! This is a very practical tool and I am so happy! I was actually looking for something like this to hold a butterfly house up off the ground.
The butterfly house is a really cute gift but I didn’t have a good place for it. It was too close to the ground. It became a snail house more than a butterfly house. But it’s green with copper details, well made and beautiful.
Now- because of this super handy gadget, the house is elevated and in the orchard, by the weeds.
The pole is easy to screw together. The four prong post is well planned and stable. The included wood screws are sufficient for the butterfly house and more. The butterfly house is less than 10 pounds and this system feels steady, solid, very secure. (I have a bird house, 3x the size, cedar construction, and I feel confident the post would hold this too without issue.)
I screwed the house to the plate with the other black plate part facing forward versus backwards in the picture. I have a ceramic garden sign to attach at a later date.
I appreciate how easy it is to lift the pole for convenient rehoming.
The solar panel screw system isn’t needed for us but maybe someday. I’ll probably add wire eventually and use the extra piece to help hold the wire in place and invite sweet peas to please 🙏 grow around the pole.
I think this is a practical gift for a gardener. They will find a purpose! This would also be a nice gift for someone who doesn’t live around very many trees or large trees but enjoys birds.
